Green Silence
How they entrance me, these frolicking clusters of ferns!
Majestically, they spill their flamboyant plumes.
Ah to this green silence, my gaze ever returns.
An auburn curl soaks in hardy drizzle, for life it yearns.
Fuzzy fiddleheads, pop up, magically abloom.
How they entrance me, these frolicking clusters of ferns!
Amidst shady oaks, a florescent crosier glows, burns
It nods its quiescent buds, shrugging off gloom
Ah, to this green silence, my gaze ever returns.
Like symphonists, silvery stalks, sway in nocturnes.
Each blade opens to splendour in its vernal costume
How they entrance me, these frolicking clusters of ferns!
Bracken fronds bend over the corner spring that churns
Their tender tips, frail fingers dip into calm water’s womb.
Ah,to this green silence my gaze ever returns.
Delicate stalks poise over glassy lakes like lanterns
Yet, with a savagery they breed, heads cowering in prayers resumed.
Yet, how they entrance me, these frolicking clusters of ferns!
Ah, to this green silence, my gaze ever returns.
